Today, Best Design Guides will present you the Top Worldwide Design Destinations to Visit in 2017. In order to achieve our goal, we’ve chosen only one destination on each continent, so our guide includes one destination in the U.S., another one in Latin America, other in the Caribbean, another in the Mediterranean Area, one in northern Europe, other in Asia, and finally, one in Africa. The aim is to provide the most accurate design destinations from all over the world.
Florence, Italy
Florence is a charming city that breathes art and culture, hosting the most iconic art pieces from the best artists, including David or Davi, which is one of the most famous sculptures of the Renaissance artist Michelangelo, as well Giotto’s frescoes, artworks from Botticelli and, of course, the astonishing artworks created by the genius Leonardo Da Vinci. To stay in Florence we suggest you Villa San Michele, which is housed in an ancient monastery, combining a Renaissance atmosphere with a 21st-century comfort, and it is one of the most expensive hotels in Florence. We strongly advise you to visit Florence because it is one of the Top Destinations around the world to visit in 2017.

Nashville, USA
Nashville provides the world with top restaurants and some of the best worldwide hotels. Among all luxury places to visit, we suggest you visit the new Urban Cowboy Public House, which is a restaurant and bar that offers “Francis Mallmann-inspired wood-fired cooking with a focus on fresh, healthy and organic seasonal fare,” said the co-owner Lyon Porter. Furthermore, we also suggest the 21c Museum Hotel, a unique place which will open the doors in Spring and it will provide its guests with a contemporary art museum, a hotel, a restaurant, and a bar. The hotel will invite all the community to enjoy its curated exhibitions, cultural programming, and culinary offerings, which will be headed by the executive chef Levon Wallace.
Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town is the second-most populated city in South Africa after Johannesburg, and it is the legislative capital of the country, the seat of the Parliament of South Africa. The opening of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art (Zeitz MOCAA), created by V&A Waterfront Partners with Jochen Zeitz, is scheduled to open in September 2017, and it will be the world’s largest collection of modern African art. V&A Waterfront CEO David Green said: “Given the history and socio-economic role the V&A Waterfront plays in South Africa and the sheer number of visits we achieve annually, we felt this gift to the nation, where commerce meets culture, was entirely appropriate and will correctly continue to position the Waterfront as a social nexus for all Capetonians, South Africans and international visitors who take joy in celebrating culture.”
To stay, we suggest you the luxury Silo Hotel, which was designed by the renowned Thomas Heatherwick, as well as the Zeitz Museum. If you don’t know Cape Town city, you should visit it in 2017 to discover the best African artworks as its impressive landscapes and beaches.
Havana, Cuba
Cuba is always a coveted destination due to its beaches, its culture and its traditional way of life. Perhaps, because of that, Cuba has always been, and it continues to be, a privileged destination for North Americans and Europeans. One of the most iconic buildings of the city is the Inglaterra Hotel, which opened its doors in 1875 is being renovated and it will reopen under the SPG brand, providing its visitors with a world of luxury, maintaining the original facade and Cuban values. “Cuba is booming with an influx of new privately owned businesses that are rediscovering real-estate jewels for hostels, restaurants, and particular residences for travelers. They are putting their grain of sand on the rescue of architectural heritage in Cuba,” says Eddie Lubbers, founder of Cuba Travel Network.
Luang Prabang, Laos
Luang Prabang is one of the most paradisiacal destinations, which is enhanced by the fact that it is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage. This Southeast Asian destination features a rich history and it is part of the Silk Road, a network of trade routes, formally established during the Han Dynasty of China, which served as a link between the regions of the ancient world in commerce. Rosewood Luang Prabang will open in 2017, which consists of a luxury tent and villa encampment located a 10-minute drive from the historic center city of Luang Prabang. At Luang Prabang, you have more than 30 Buddhist temples, you can also appreciate french colonial architecture and lavishly decorated pagodas.
