Everyone of us is looking for a special treatment when traveling abroad – this time we went to Amsterdam.
Intimacy, sharing experiences and story telling is usually the good elements to make a trip memorable. Amsterdam’s canals are full of histories and secrets, that’s why we decided to stay in a very intimate yet perfectly decorated hotel called Kamer01.
“Kamer 01” is a bed and breakfast designed with a philosophy of style and personal service.
Super stylish bedrooms, with a personal touch of the owner’s interior design skills and own furniture pieces. A rich story of entertainment and comfort. Let’s walk through history first…
Situated in a bend of the Singel Canal it has a view towards Flowermarket, Spui and the 9 Streets district. Surrounded bymuseums, cultural activities and fine restaurants, your stay at ‘Kamer 01″ is the beginning of your discovery of Amsterdam.
In this beautiful heritage building you will come to appreciate the typical “feel” of Amsterdam. The house was originally built in 1585 and since then was renovated almost every century since. It still has lots of original features, including the original spiral staircases, wooden ceiling beams and a visible wooden roof construction. In the breakfast room there are even some fragments of 18th century wallpaper. In 2009 the interior was professionally renovated by Atelier Hertogh to meet modern day artistic and technical standards.
A piece of heritage in the form of a gorgeous hotel.
The B&B has 1 Suite and 2 rooms: The Green Suite on the first floor, the Red Room on the second floor, the Blue Room on the 3rd (attic) floor. They all have en suite marble bathrooms, a sleeping area in the back and sitting/working area in the front.
Now time to see what this gorgeous hotel has the best:
– Red Room
The Red Room has the fire of passion; the tears of joy because the decoration is TO DIE FOR! We loved every single detail: the fireplace on the TV, the marble & windowed bathroom, the gorgeous selection of design magazines. Amazing! Loved every second.
– Blue Room
The Blue Room is all about quietness. The book “Quiet Amsterdam” really pictures the experience of this hotel in Amsterdam. Blue as the sky, the detail on the ceiling is nothing but delicious. The lamps create an ambiance of restful thoughts.
– The Green Room
The Green Room is the largest room of the hotel, and can host 4 persons. The signature is even more evident here, the bed was fully designed by the owner.
The Breakfast was also delightful, with all silverware and homemade gourmet dishes. A truly intimate and one of a kind experience.
In these delightful surroundings the lovely hosts are Peter and Tommie the sweet Beagle. They’ll offer you a personal service aimed to make this an unforgettable stay.
