Portugal – ElDorado Archi, Design and Craft? – January 21st – 2 pm – Hall 7
One of the most entertaining talks of Maison et Objet 2019 is bound to be the “PORTUGAL – ELDORADO ARCHI, DESIGN AND CRAFT?”, a unique conference that will be moderated by journalist Guy-Claude Agboton and it will count with the knowledge of interior architects from Oitoemponto, Artur Miranda and Jacques Bec as well as Joana Astolfi designer from Astolfi Studio and Amândio Pereira, founder of Covet Foundation. Portugal has been increasingly a game changer in the Design field, injecting considerable verve into a previously conservative industry as well as bringing a new fresh inspiration worldwide. Rising Talents China: the new scene of Chinese Design – January 19th – 11 am – Hall 7
Following the success of the United Kingdom, Italy and Lebanon editions, China will showcase its Rising Talents at Maison et Objet 2019. The decision to focus on China’s young designers is a testament to the country’s rapid design-led growth, reflecting Maison et Objet efforts to remain at the forefront of international design progress and development. This edition will present 6 amazing rising design talents The rising talent were chosen and will be coordinated by some heavyweight giants of the Chinese design industry, like Liu Xu, Chairman of China National Interior Decoration Association, Xing Tong-He, Former Chief Architect of Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co. Ltd.; Qu Guangci, founder and artistic director of design brand X+Q Art, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of inter-disciplinary architecture and design practice Neri&Hu. Gio-Ponti – A World Work – January 21st – 12 pm – Hall 7
Gio Ponti was one of the most iconic interior designers of Italy and, in fact, of the entire World. Maison et Objet will pay homage to this great Master and legend of Design with a stunning talk led by Dominique Forest and Sophie Bouilhet-Dumas, two top connoisseurs of this amazing designer’s work!
